About Us

Chester County Eye Care Associates (CCEC) has been providing excellence in eye care to Chester County and the surrounding area for over 35 years with offices in West Chester and Exton.  Both offices are outfitted with advanced diagnostic equipment to ensure immediate diagnosis and treatment of vision-threatening complications of diabetes, glaucoma and diseases of the retina. Digital photography and angiography, Ocular Coherence and Retinal Tomography, ocular ultrasound, stereoscopic photography, laser photocoagulation, computerized corneal topography, pachymetry and automated visual field testing are also available on site.

Chester County Eye Care Associates’ dedicated team of board certified, university trained and affiliated eye surgeons use the latest technology only previously available at special university centers to diagnose and treat all eye diseases including cataract, glaucoma, diabetes and macular degeneration.  CCEC is the only practice in Chester County to perform many of the latest eye procedures such as:

The specialists at Chester County Eye Care actively contribute to the advancement of treatments of eye diseases by participating in clinical trials for new medicines and treatments and FDA protocols for new procedures.  For example, in March 2006, our own Dr. Robert Liss was given FDA approval to participate in a research protocol and successfully performed the first synthetic iris implant surgery in the Philadelphia area.  And, in January 2007, Dr. Liss was granted FDA permission to perform the use of capsular tension segments to stabilize an otherwise unstable intraocular lens - capsular bag complex.  In this way, our doctors pursue the best treatments and procedures for our patients, both existing and on the horizon.

Our Board certified/fellowship trained ophthalmologists include Drs. Stark, Liss, Saran, Ward, and DeStafeno.  Our doctors hold teaching positions at Wills Eye Hospital and the Scheie Eye institute, and lecture internationally on ocular surgery and disease.   Drs. Stark, Liss and Saran have all been voted "Top Docs" by Main Line Today magazine.  Dr. Liss has recently been honored by the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) when he was selected to co-chair their upcoming lab course on the latest techniques for the management of cataracts in glaucomatous eyes with an emphasis on avoiding postoperative complications.

Dr. Alburn, Dr. Chu, Dr. Dorian, and Dr. Kuc, CCEC’s four board-certified optometrists, use the newest technology available to provide complete eye exams with testing for eye diseases, such as glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, cataracts, macular degeneration, and retinal tears. They also specialize in the fitting of contact lenses, including Corneal Refractive Therapy (CRT), a non-surgical alternative to LASIK.

In addition to cutting edge ophthalmology, Chester County Eye Care offers select cosmetic procedures.   Bruce I. Stark, M.D., Director of the Center for Rejuvenations at Chester County Eye Care Associates, medically evaluates all prospective patients to see if they are indeed candidates for cosmetic procedures and performs all injections himself. The Center for Rejuvenations at CCEC offers these simple, non- to minimally invasive procedures:  Botox®, GentleWaves®, Juvederm™ and Fractional CO2 Laser Skin Resurfacing.

CCEC is committed to providing compassionate, comprehensive, and state-of-the-art care in a friendly and professional atmosphere. When you choose CCEC, you choose to see the best!
