John J. DeStafeno, M.D., specializes in advanced cataract, cornea, and lasik surgery. Dr. DeStafeno was awarded and completed the prestigious Duke University 2-year fellowship in corneal and anterior segment disease and surgery, focusing on all aspects of “no-blade” refractive surgery and corneal transplantation, including the revolutionary DSEK procedure. He also specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of complicated corneal infections and ocular surface disease.
Dr. DeStafeno has been actively involved in clinical research throughout his career. He has published numerous papers in peer-reviewed journals and textbooks, contributing to the advancement of cataract surgery and the understanding of corneal disease. Dr. DeStafeno has presented his work both nationally and internationally and has been recognized by the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery for his teaching and research.
