Chester County Eye Care has been heightening efforts to be a greener establishment! With the implementation of the electronic medical system we have reduced paper and ink usage. We have also been collecting items to be reused that would otherwise go to waste. Our staff had a used scrub drive in February. With the help of our patients we have also been collecting old glasses. The glasses and scrubs are being donated to a hospital in Ethiopia. Together we have collected 100 pairs of glasses, over 100 scrub tops and 56 scrub bottoms! We will continue to collect glasses with the endless generosity of our patients.

Our offices have also been recycling more “trash” than ever before. All old ink cartridges are being sent back to the factory for re-use and spent coffee grounds are composted off site. In a more literal sense we have “gone green” by adding plants to each of our offices, improving air quality and adding to the office scenery. Our composted coffee grounds will be made into compost tea to feed our plants. Staff and patients are encouraged to be more earth-friendly at the office as well as in their daily lives.

With guidance from the new green committee and support from the partners Dr. Stark, Dr. Liss, Dr. Saran, Dr. DeStafeno, and our patients
