Dr. Robert Liss Instructs Surgeons from Around the World
Robert P. Liss, M.D., was selected to be the Senior Instructor for the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) lab course titled, Advanced Refractive Cataract Surgery and Anterior Segment Reconstruction. This course was offered to ophthalmologists from around the world at the AAO’s annual meeting held October 2010 in Chicago. The 2010 annual meeting was the Academy’s first Joint Meeting with the Middle East Africa Council of Ophthalmology. This event is the largest, most extensive scientific meeting in ophthalmology.
The Advanced Refractive Cataract Surgery and Anterior Segment Reconstruction lab course covered suture fixation techniques for Intraocular lens implants, the use of the newly FDA approved Intraocular lens implant stabilization devices, artificial iris implantation, and new glaucoma techniques and strategies for dealing with complex surgical cases.
Dr. Liss lectured for the same course where his topic was “Combining New Modalities in Glaucoma Surgery with Cataract Surgery”. He was instructor for the AAO lab courses titled, Schlemm Canal Surgery and the Glaucoma Filtration Surgery Lab for Ophthalmology Residents.
As senior instructor or instructor of four 2010 AAO courses, Dr. Liss further established himself on a short list of worldwide leaders in the advancement of treatments for glaucoma and cataract.
