Now Offering Telemedicine Appointments

As a convenience during this difficult time, we are offering our patients the option of doing a telemedicine visit for select eye concerns. Telemedicine visits allow a patient to speak to one of our eye doctors and have an external eye exam performed from the comfort of their home. We can provide guidance on your eye related issues through video chat, and we can electronically send prescriptions to your pharmacy if needed. A telemedicine visit is best for eye concerns such as:

  • Dry Eye Disease
  • Pink Eye
  • Blepharitis
  • Meibomian Gland Disease
  • Chalazions and Styes
  • Lid Lesions

Telemedicine visits clearly have limitations and are not suitable for comprehensive eye exams, dilation, ocular imaging, eye pressure checks, or urgent/emergency eye issues. When you call our office to schedule an appointment, our staff will help determine if a telemedicine visit is a good option for you.

HOW DOES IT WORK
Your telemedicine appointment will be scheduled during our normal business hours. At the time you make your appointment, please provide us with your phone number (or email) and the video platform you would like to use. Acceptable ones include FaceTime, Skype, Facebook Messenger video chat, and Google Hangouts video. The doctor will call you at your scheduled appointment time. The length of the appointment will vary per patient but may take up to one hour. Just like an in-office appointment, your insurance will be billed for a telemedicine visit. Please know you will be responsible for any applicable co-pays and deductibles.
